Here are my final poster designs for musical indie film God Help the Girl starring Emily Browning, Hannah Murray and Olly Alexander and directed by Stuart Murdoch. Unfortunately the window of opportunity was too small to get permission from the films distributors to use the posters for any theatrical cinema release but I have gained a certain amount of industry experience and good references from Metrodome Distribution. I am currently trying very hard to get the posters onto social media and the official website, it’s been a struggle so far but i'm not giving up. The feedback I have got from friends and the guys from Metrodome has been great. Quad poster. one-sheet poster.

I am overjoyed and excited to be offered a design role for an upcoming film release from Metrodome Distribution. It's an opportunity I have been working towards for over 4 years and a chance for me to further my career into the film industry. It's not the first film poster based competition I have won but possibly the most significant one so far. In 2009 I won Best Poster in the Odeon Short Film Competition. I remember a university lecture debating whether digital art is real art and the whole contemporary format being an acceptable one, according to the lecturer "digital art isn't art if it doesn't exists in the real world, the physical world". I’m mostly a digital artist these days but I have to say coming from an art school background I had to agree. From my own experience and exposure within the traditional art and gallery exhibition scene I can say there definitely is a biased when it comes to accepting digital forms of art on the same plateau as traditional methods such as an oil painting next to a digital one, ignorance is part of the problem. I personally believe if you put your heart and soul into honestly expressing yourself bringing to life something original from scratch then it should be appreciated as a legitimate form. If you don't know I am a massive Bruce Lee fan and recently decided to touch up some digital work I did for my degree show inspired by Bruce Lee called Audio Visual Posters. I guess what brought me back to it was a belief it had more to offer and a longing to get it out there and contribute to Bruce Lee's legacy within the industry... well that's the plan anyway. The original artwork has been exhibited in Bethnal Green, Ada Street Gallery and London Trocadero. I also presented the poster to Linda Lee (Bruce Lee's widow) and daughter Shannon Lee in 2008 gaining a signed copy.    So I went back to the project files and created a PDF presentation in Adobe InDesign complete with Bookmarks, interactive buttons and hyperlinks in aid of my mission. I have sent the new poster art and PDF to a number of Asian film distribution companies and the Bruce Lee Foundation, I know its a long shot but I need to get it off my chest and move on. Done!
